Max Trenorden

Chairperson

Max joined the Essential Personnel Board in 2013, at the conclusion of a long and esteemed career in Western Australian politics as a member of the National Party. His 30 years in politics contained many career highlights including Member and Chair of the public Accounts Committee in the Legislative Assembly; Member of the Standing Committee on Procedure and Privileges and Chair, Standing Committee on Public Administration. Max was appointed Leader of the Parliamentary National Party in 2001 and held this position until 2005. Max served his constituents in the Avon/Wheatbelt electorate with passion and commitment making positive changes to many lives.

In his position as the Chairperson of Essential Personnel he brings a wealth of knowledge in relation to state and federal government, legislature and parliamentary processes. In addition to his political experience, he has agricultural experience from working on the family farm and good business acumen as a result of running his own Insurance, Superannuation and Financial Broking Agency.

Jan Horsley

Jan Horsley

Vice Chairperson

Jan Horsley has extensive business experience and life experience. She is currently the President of the Rotary Club of Northam, was the elected President of the Inner Wheel club in 2008 and was appointed the first Director of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Chamber of Commerce in 1980.

Her business experience includes owning Goldfields Air Services, an aircraft charter company, for many years and a Children’s Wear shop.

Although she is now officially retired, she keeps very busy with her charitable activities which includes a special interest in disadvantaged youth.

Kim Allison

Kim Allison

Board Member

Kim has a long employment history working as a registered nurse in rural Western Australia. Her medical experience is expansive and includes General Medical and Surgical Wards, Intensive Care, Pediatrics, Aged Care and Community Care. Kim has always been an active participant in community life and recently held the position of President of CWA McCarthy Belles.

Kim started her own business in 2016 providing mobile continence support, advice, guidance and care throughout the many Wheatbelt towns ensuring all individuals’ needs are met.

Kim brings an enlightened approach and understanding to the Essential Personnel Board through her experience as the parent of two children with disabilities. Both children have been clients of the Essential Personnel services. Thus, she has a profound understanding of the experience of an Essential Personnel client and the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities.

Les Pettitt

Les Pettitt

Board Member

Les has been a Board member since 2016.
Previous employment included 20 years in Papua New Guinea as a school teacher, lecturer (business college) and Development Bank management.
Currently involved in a family run distribution business in Merredin.

Social/community experience have included President Clackline Progress Association, Councillor and Deputy President Shire of Northam (1995-2007) Management of a local Aboriginal Corporation (1993-2003) and employer through our Merredin business.

Les is the parent of an ongoing client of Essential Personnel and has employed through the business a number of persons with disabilities. He is an active member of the Salvation Army in Northam.

Tony Marwick

Tony Marwick

Chief Executive Officer & Board Member

Tony was the Chairman and Managing Director of a Licensed Securities Dealer and Managing Partner of a Chartered Accountancy Practice, from the mid-nineties to 2001 in Subiaco, Western Australia.

He joined the Board of Essential Personnel in 2003 and was Chairman for 2 years. In January 2007 Tony took up the role of Chief Executive Officer and still occupies that position. His corporate background has been an advantage to Essential Personnel evidenced in their strong financial position, enabling the organization to establish a substantial infrastructure enhancing our ability to deliver quality services to individuals with disabilities throughout the areas we service.

Under his leadership the organisation has grown from a single funder of $600,000 per annum to over $3.5 million per annum while Essential Personnel has maintained a leadership position in delivering services to individuals with disabilities of the highest order. Tony is committed to excellence in service delivery to the sector of the community that he serves.
